Amelia
Dead Man's Curve
Where 222 meets SR 125 is a dangerous turning intersection that has a long list of crash victims. The
curving road was rebuilt into a straight four lane road in 1969 and in the same year a car with five
teenagers hit head on with another car, killing all but one. Ever since that day a silhouette of a man has
been seen by several people standing by the road with an arm up as if he were trying to hitchhike. Claims
are that the figure is very clear to see with blue pants, a blue shirt and long hair but no face.
The Dunham Road House
A Dunham Road House located on Dunham Road was believed to be raided by Cherokee Indians in the
early 1800’s and killed the youngest daughter of the Tracy family.
Batavia
Clermont County Infirmary
At different times it served as the counties orphanage, poorhouse, a nursing home and a mental hospital,
which as you can imaging has seen plenty of misery and pain. Those that died here were often buried at a
nearby field, which now has a women’s jail sitting on top, which is also believed to be haunted possibly by
victims of the Infirmary.
Hell’s Church
Off of SR 32 in Batavia is the site of a church that was burned down and believed to be a spot for satanic
worshiping.
Lucy Run Road and Batavia Cemetery
A white figure often runs across the road in front of drivers, vaporizes into thin air at the entrance to the
Batavia cemetery. The daughter of Charles Robinson was engaged to a young man who came one stormy
night to tell her that the marriage was off that he had fallen in love with another woman. When he road off
without giving Lucy a chance to understand, she climbed on a horse and road after him. Visibility was very
low and Lucy and her horse missed the bridge and fell into the creek and drowned. The creek was then
known as Lucy’s Run and the road next to it is Lucy’s Run Road. She as been seen running across the
road into the cemetery where her grave is.
Felicity
Smyrna Cemetery
An old Shawnee sorceress, who was killed by her tribe for betraying them, haunts felicity’s Smyrna
Cemetery.
Goshen
Peaceful Valley
Friends stopped in a covered bridge when an arm came through the driver’s window and tried to get the
car keys and another grabbed the passenger and tried to drag them out of the car. The car plowed
forward when the side of the car hit the bridge breaking the grip of the mysterious arms and the car speed
off. Other cases have reported a car following them and suddenly disappearing before their eyes.
Loveland
Loveland Castle
It is believe that an old imported throne is haunted by a King and the gentleman who built the castle, Harry
Andrews who was caught on fire while burning leaves. There is also a rocking chair that will move on it’s
own and is believed to have been owned by Mr. Andrews.
Miamiville
The Trainman’s Ghost
Morgan’s Raiders killed a trainman and he has been seen walking the tracks and the roads watching
farmers and people as they drive by.
Milford
Promont
The house was built in the mid to late 1800’s by William McGrue and later purchased by governor William
Harrison who’s wife died there and later he did as well. Henry Hodges bought the house, lived there for
decades and died there. Many people have heard footsteps, noises and have been touched.
Moscow
Spate House
An owner was killed over a card game and when the dog wouldn’t stop barking it was killed and thrown into
the Ohio River. Strange enough the dog is the one that haunts the grounds. It is believed that barking
and whining can be heard.
Owensville
Village Hall
In 1863, Morgan’s Raiders were met by some resistance from an old man in the village hall. People aren’t
sure if it is his ghost that haunts the hall but is constantly making noises and disturbing people.
Utopia
Ghosts of the Spiritualists
The swelling of the Ohio River in the mid 1800’s killed spiritualists and the riverbanks are their resting
place. People have seen strange lights and ghostly figures walking along the banks.
Williamsburg
Williamsburg High School
It is said that students jumped out of the third floor window, a teacher shot themselves, and a janitor hung
himself. Strange lights and sounds have been heard in the halls of the schools.
